I wish I had known how awesome all of this was during my freshmen year. But that's okay! Because I know it now!
The Press Pass show I produce doesn't have an assigned board operator so we've just been finding someone around the station to do it for us and usually that's Sam. Today, Sam couldn't do it and there was no one else! So, with DJ training two days behind me, I made a bold move and said I'd do it. And I did. And it was awesome. Not hard, not scary, it was totally awesome. And every day I walk into that station I become more and more enthralled to be a journalism major. It all looks so complicated from an outsider's perspective. And hey, it's not that easy, but to know it, to learn more, to be able to use it, it's such an invigorating and powerful feeling. I can't get enough. And soon I'll start my DJ shift and be able to clock in more hours at the Blaze 1260 AM.
It took me a year, but I finally get it. I finally understand why when you go there, you get hooked.
