Where did Carrie go?
Carrie drove up to Flagstaff Friday afternoon with Crystal. Somehow, we managed to slip through every rain storm and snow blizzard. It rained a little bit on the drive and was, over-all, perfect. The minute we parked outside Rielly hall, it began to snow.
Kris and I went to a movie Friday night; Failure to Launch. It was really cute which made me really happy because i love Sara Jessica Parker (clearly).
Yesterday a bunch of us spent the whole day playing in the snow and taking pictures. We had lots of snowball fights, someone made a snow angel, we tried to build a snowman, but no one can figure out how to roll snow like they do in cartoons--is that not possible? We also tried to go sledding in a plastic storage bin, but that didn't work so well. We might find a real sled/saucer today and try again. It's been snowing non-stop though, and it's windy too which makes it tough to really enjoy the snow because it's always blowing in your eyes and shivering your spine.
I've never seen so much snow in my life! Looking outside the window right now it's just a photograph of white with shades of brown from the distant trees and nearby buildings. There are long icicles hanging from all the rooftaps and from underneath the cars, which are all now so buried in the parking lots it will take an hour to dig them out. Kris has been very thankful to have his car this weekend, especially with the four wheel drive; it handles the snow like a beast!
So not only have we been totally intrenched with snow, but apparantly it snowed in Scottsdale! Can you believe it?? It NEVER snows in Scottsdale! And I wasn't even there to gape at it! But that's ok because there is so much more snow here and a really special someone to play in it with. Mom took photos of the snow though, I can't wait to see them. The other good news that comes with that is it finally rained in Phoenix! Our one hundred forty? days without rain is finally broken.
These storms are so out of control, but we need it. We definitely need it.
Alright, well, off to begin the day of white magic. : )
