Chapter 2: Imaginary
Kari sat up. Cold sweat stuck to her causing her shirt to stick to her as well. She fell back on her bed, ignoring the shaking in her body. She felt so cold. It was just too cold.
...I linger in the doorway of alarm clock screaming monsters calling my name. Let me stay where the wind will whisper to me. Where the rain drops as they're falling tell a story...
She tried to drift back to sleep, but her alarm clock went off. Kari dragged herself out of bed. She walked towards her bathroom. Kari noticed her face in the mirror. She was really pale. Too pale for it too be healthy. Kari closed her blue eyes.
...In my field of paper flowers and candy clouds of lullaby. I lie inside myself for hours and watch my purple sky fly over me...
She let a sigh overcome her and began her morning ritual. She brushed her hair and pulled it back. She grabbed her contact case and began to try to put them in. After ten minutes, they were in. Kari started to put on her makeup. Then she brushed her teeth.
...Don't say I'm out of touch with this rampant chaos - your reality. I know well what lies beyond my sleeping refuge. The nightmare I built my own world to escape...
After getting dressed, Kari finished getting ready. She put her CD case in her bookbag. She could hear the bus outside. So, she grabbed her CD player and bookbag. She walked over to her door. Kari walked out into the cold air. She hurried to the bus and got on.
...In my field of paper flowers and candy clouds of lullaby. I lie inside myself for hours and watch my purple sky fly over me...
The bus drove around, picking up all of the people getting on. She sighed and waited to get to school. Kari placed her headphones on. Her favorite music began to fill her thoughts.
...Swallowed up in the sound of my screaming. Cannot cease for the fear of silent nights. Oh, how I long for the deep sleep dreaming, the Goddess of Imaginary Light...
The bus stopped at her school. Kari hurried to get out. She walked into the school and headed towards her locker. Then, she walked over towards her so called friends.
