Chapter 3: Everybody's Fool Kari sat on her bed. Thousands of thoughts crouded her mind. But the ones that stood out the most, were of her past. How she hated to think of it. Yet, it was the only thing that kept her from cutting or commiting suicide. ...Perfect by nature. Icons of self indulgence. Just what we all need. More lies about a world that... Kari sighed and fell back on her bed. She looked over at her CD player. Then, her glance turned to her computer. She sat up. Kari walked over to her computer and turned it on. She sat down in the chair next to it. ...Never was and never will be. Have you no shame don't you see me? You know you've got everybody fooled... She looked in her mirror at her reflection. How she constanly looked at herself. Her blue eyes were the only thing she loved about herself. Her eyes were perfect. They didn't belong on her body. She was ugly. They were beautiful. ...Look, here she comes now. Bow down and stare in wonder. Oh, how we love you. No flaws when you're pretending. But now I know she... Kari turned her glance back to her computer. She waited for it to finish loading. Then, she clicked on her internet icon. Kari waited for that to load before she did anything. ...Never was and never will be. You don't know how you betrayed me. And somehow you've got everybody fooled... Once she got on the internet, Kari went directly to cheak her mail. There was no new messages. She never got any e-mails anyway. She then went to look up the episodes for her favorite show. ...Without the mask, where will you hide? Can find yourself. Lost in your lie... Kari scrolled through them. Once she found out the episodes, she logged on to a message board. She looked through, looking to see if her post was read. ...I know the truth now. I know who you are and I don't love you anymore... Kari saw none. She hardly ever got any comments. She hardly got anything for that matter. No one loved her. She was alone. And that was how she would forever remain. ...It never was and never will be. You're not real and you can't save me. Somehow now you're everybody's fool...
