6:39 Wednesday Evening
Cats chase Dogs and the Moon Smiles upon us
This is good. good good good.
From Alice, we took a train to Adelaide. It was uninteresting.
From Adelaide, we rented a car and drove to Echuka, spent the night, drove to some other random small town where the big tourist attraction is a bronze statue of a dog sitting on a tucker box, spent the night, drove to Sydney.
We got our 3-day Sydney Pass thing. Then we drove to the game in which the basketball team from our own home university (one of the players even took Daddy's class last year) played the Australian national team. Considering the play was faster, there were a few different rules, and there were 4 quarters instead of just two halves, they did really good. They lost, 69-70. Which was better than when they first played the night before, where they lost 30 something to 90 something. hoo.
Anyway, then we dropped the rental car off at the airport, and took a subway back to the central station, and walked back to our hotel.
I tried really hard to connect to an unprotected wireless internet port but even though it said i had a little bit of signal strength and i was connected, it wouldn't let me go very far. I got to a few web pages and it told me who had e-mailed me, but it wouldn't open up my gmail. Argh. It was very frustrating, seeing all those e-mails from Caleb that I couldn't read.
Today, we got up and took a bus to some ferry place, had breakfast at the local McDonalds (ew), and went on a cruise around Sydney Harbour. Then we went and looked at the Sydney Opera House, as you do when you're a tourist. Then it turned out that there was a play going on in an hour so we bought tickets to that and stayed to watch it. Yay. It was really good. It was a political thriller/satire called Two Brothers. I couldn't tell you the plot if I tried though. Basically a corrupt politician trying to become prime minister and his brother who is at the other end of the political scale (conservative versus left-wing humanitarian) trying to figure out what's more important--politics or blood.
It was very intriguing, the lighting and set design were incredible, the characters very real.
Then we took a train back to central station, went to the hotel, and I came here.
the end.
I found alfred street.
I miss him so hardcore.
Yesterday when i was wandering around in Chinatown, there was the cutest little girl. Her lips were blue because she was eating blue coloured ice cream.
And a lady in a pink-pinstriped black jacket like mine (only pink pinstriped instead of white) was sooooo checking my jacket out. I saw her eyeing it up and down. I almost spread out my arms for her and asked her if she liked it.
But no.
I saw a cute boy today.
Then I missed him even more.
And in the grocery store, I found a bottle of lynx phoenix. I opened the lid and breathed in the scent. And missed him even more. Funny the way smells do that to you.
I must buy that bottle of lynx.
