4:54 Wednesday Evening
  An Airport Sunrise
I sat next to a really old guy on my flight to LA. When he lifted his arm to turn on the light, everything went sag. I stifled a giggle and looked out the window.
I was in LA for 7 hours. Checking in and security were relatively quick and painless...the only security problems I ever had were when I took off my belt and my shorts were falling down.
After I got in and found my gate, I gave my dad a call and waah, it was sad, i was almost crying at the end. Sounds like a movie...and it was just a phone call. how silly of me. Then I found an electrical outlet in the corner of a Starbucks, plugged my phone in, and settled down to read some F. Scott Fitzgerald short stories.
When I got tired of that, I sat next to some old ladies. They left and I ended up talking to this (kind of cute) guy who was waiting for the same flight to Aukland as me. He was reading a pirate book, and was on his way to Melbourne to see his boyfriend.
We hit it off just dandy. I don't remember his name, but it was something unique and very cool.
I sat next to a 4th grade teacher who had served in the peace corps in Africa on the flight. 13 hours. Oh man. I took a sleeping pill after they dimmed the lights a little, and then they announced that dinner was going to be served, and they passed out the immigration and customs cards to be filled out before entry into the country. I filled out the card as fast as I could, and all I remember about dinner is that it was some sort of cheese lasagne, and that there was a dessert. I fell asleep almost immediately after dinner.
It wasn't a very good sleep, but it was a sleep. When I woke up, I watched a weird movie called "junebug" about i don't even know what. It was pretty fascinating though, and I probably would have enjoyed it more if I could have heard better what was going on, or if I wasn't so sleepy.
I took a nap in Aukland, after finding my way from the international to the domestic. immigration was easy, customs was fast, and the sunrise was spectacular.
I spent another 7 hours in Aukland. It was awful because I had no new zealand cash so i didn't get anything to eat, and there was no one to talk to. I just slept. I had strange dreams that I don't remember now.
