10:19 Mid Thursday Night For My Own Good American Thanksgiving. A time to stuff yourself and be thankful for what you have. ...or is it really a time to anticipate doorbuster sales at the local wal/k/shop-mart? Why can't we be thankful at any other time of the year? Why are we thankful for one day for what we have in the here and now....and then get up at 3 the next morning to get what we want, what we think we need, for TOTALLY OUTRAGEOUS!!!1!!1!!one!!1!11 prices? I'll tell you what. I'm thankful that we live in this country where I'm allowed to badmouth our president (though if it were up to him, i'm pretty sure it would be illegal -- that is not the point). I'm grateful for the roof over my head, the clean water i take for granted, the fact that i don't have to worry if there will be food on my table or not tonight, my warm bed, and knowing that if I get sick I will assuredly be able to see a doctor. I'm thankful that I have ten working fingers, ten working toes, two arms that move on command, two legs that can walk and jump and dance, two eyes that see properly, a nose that smells and a mouth that tastes, two ears that hear... All of my internal organs are in working condition. I am thankful for my wonderful friends, my beautiful bestfriend/boyfriend; I'm thankful that Mandy's new medications are actually working this time. I'm thankful that Mandy was smiling today. Anyway. I finished my corset. perhaps I'll post a photo. It's quite cute, I'm very proud of it. ----------------- 11:27 p.m. as promised: Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting and... Least forget that I just found out Thanksgiving was invented during the Civil War to boost morale for the north when they were losing. It really has nothing to do with those damn injuns or pilgrams but really about appreciating the good in our lives. We should be thankful more than one day a year. It's like only telling our mothers and fathers we love tthem in may and june.
