  Skipping Class to Learn
I love my biology class. Who knew evolution was so interesting? God, I just feel really elevated and enlightened every time I come out of that class!!
Then I was reading science times section of the NYT; though it was last Tuesday...the science doesn't go obsolete THAT quicky (usually).
There is a crazy weird neurological disease striking workers at a meat plant in Minnesota -- I want to run to last semester's public health class and tell Dave all about it.
mysterious.
Then there is an article about talking to your toddler when he/she throws a tantrum -- apparently toddlers are cavemen by nature (Homo neanderthalis). they evolve as they grow? yeah. anyway. toddler says "I want cookie. I want it! want cookie now!" mom says "now now, honey, you can have a cookie after dinner." apparently ineffective, and instead mom should say , "you want cookie, you want you want! you want cookie now!" mimicking toddler's tone and facial expression . then after they calm down speak to them reasonably. I gotta try that on the next toddler i meet. even if it's a random in the supermarket.
mwa ha ha.
I like learning...I just don't like being tested on it. i'll go hermit myself away and subscribe to popular science, the NYT, and other various media sources that I can absorb and not have to use. yay.
