How to shoot somebody who outdrew ya...
All of a sudden I have Jeff Buckley's "Hallelujah" stuck in my head. oh geez.
There's nothing like sipping hot blackberry sage tea in the school cafe on the last frigid day of classes for the year.
There's nothing like the knowledge of graduation.
There's nothing like realizing that no matter what you do on the last homework assignment for environmental management, you won't fail the class, and no one but you cares about your grades this semester since you've already been accepted to grad school. ...but you're still worried about this one insignificant assignment anyway.
There's nothing like waking up in the morning next to the man you've loved for a good quarter of your life and will continue to love for the rest of it. Also: kitty curled up on legs = warm fuzzies....uncomfortable warm fuzzies but warm fuzzies anyway.
It doesn't feel like Christmas yet, I haven't shopped much except for groceries and haven't heard the stores playing X-mas (not Christmas) music. I'm not much of a religious person, and I realise that the majority of our Christmas traditions are evolutions of Pagan rituals designed to coax the sun back from its hibernation, but I do feel like Christmas ought to be about love and not consumerism. That's just me though. I mean, who doesn't love getting presents? Who doesn't love giving them? There's no argument against the utmost satisfaction of finding the perfect gift for your loved ones. But there's also the matter of realizing that there are a lot of starving people and dying children and nations and societies torn by war...and maybe Christmas should be about love and maybe Christmas should be about them.
andnot about my christmas tree and how many lights are on my house compared to my neighbour's.
but those people I've never met, and it's hard to remember them all the time. It's hard to find a reputable charity (http://altgifts.org) to donate monetary assistance to. I'd rather donate time just because i'm a bit low on cash this year....but hell, everyone's low on cash this year.
in other news, I'm terrible at maths.
