  Weekends Leave So Fast
New Jobs are....new.
I miss working for Dr G, even though it was almost a year ago when I had to change jobs. I don't miss working for Dr J as awful as that sounds. I don't know.
I'm beginning to wonder why Dr C even considered hiring me on for undergrad work let alone masters work. Like I got an A in his class, but that doesn't mean I know anything about toxicology or the mechanisms by which toxins/toxicants interact in the cells...and it doesn't mean that I understand any of the literature I've been trying to read. The other undergrad girl who works here has given me hope, though. she lets me follow her around and has told me that the first month she worked here she had no idea what she was doing either.
so...phew?
It also doesn't help that there are 5 of us working here, 4 of which are doing this one project, the main project in this lab...and I, the 5th, am going to be working on the littler project. The guy who used to work on this (my) project has been gone for a year so I have no one to learn the specifics from.
I was supposed to go to another university this week to learn tissue culturing and certain extraction techniques, but the person who was meant to be teaching me the techniques is not going to be around that much this week.
so..
yeah.
Saturday / Sunday were fun. I went to the farmer's market twice on Saturday...once for about 30 minutes with caleb and once for about an hour with Hailey. I bought a beautiful house plant that has big succulent leaves so it will be hard for me to kill it.
Then Caleb and I went to Mom and Dad's house to sort out cake things. So we have a cake on order now.
Wedding things are getting done, woo!
Then Sunday I went to church and saw Emily !!! and lots of people said they thought my wedding invitation was pretty. :)
And i got a cupcake.
Then I went to Hailey's house for a while and hung out. I haven't spent any time with her in forever and I miss her guts. Do you hear me? I miss your guts. She and Z are coming over for tea tonight though so that'll be fun if I can manage to edibly cook the salmon.
Stupidly, based on the weather when I left the house today, I decided to leave my jacket. It looked like it would warm up ...what with the sun shining and all. And with the area we live in being a Xeric moisture regime...and it's summer.
Now it's pissing down rain and I'm freezing my arse off. but! it's pretty so i'm not complaining.
RE the big juicy plant. I have an obsession with geraniums - you can grow them really easily from cuttings, and they refuse to die! It's great. I've spawned like six plants from one cutting that I took from my Grandma's garden. I've also planted tomatoes.. I eat so many tomatoes, so I'm hoping they grow.
