I long for the day
When I can be captivated
By a chilly breeze
And a cold nose
When the comfort and warmth
Of your home is inviting
I'm waiting for the day
To be bundled up
In socks and tennis shoes
In jeans and a skin felt sweater
The fabric all the way to your palms
Covering the neck from the cold
And letting my long brown hair
Flow around my ears to keep me warm
Not looking forward to the snow necessarily
But the occasional wind to blow the dead leaves
I'm looking forward to the colors
The brown, yellow, red and orange
When hoods are pulled over your head
And gloves are worn for frozen fingers
When warm drinks are soothing
And the thought of blankets aren't nauseating.
I love the memories and the laughter
The warm hugs and kisses
Dark clouds and occasional rain storms
The smell of wet leaves in the air
Pumpkins and the hay stacks
Holidays and sweet candies
I desire the season of Fall.
