I get a beanie today! eee. I dont know why a piece of clothing is so exciting, but...it is.
Night #9 - Wednesday
So I had requested the black room/Pyschotic Nightmare. Its not a priority room so she...kinda fiddled with it and semi-answered my request. She put me in scrubs instead of all black for ya know, a pitch black room and basically said I needed to work like two rooms tonight, as in work in this room and in your spare time use the black room. Sneaky. Phooey. Whatever, at least I get to play in the black room a bit right?
So we are all dressed up and I'm texting like crazy to get ppl pictures of the things I"m selling on ksl and contacting Dallin to get him to show the stuffs. Some guy came up and saw me texting and asked "Hows the boyfriend?" and I was like "I dont have one" and he seemed geniunely surprised. I wanted say, not sure why I didnt, "Are you kidding? I'm pritti, I'm smart, and I got money, why would I need a boyfriend? he'd just mess it up" It made me giggle inside. We had a lil' emotional breakdown in the bathroom before make up. This girl burst into tears cuz her parents are getting divorced and bickering at each and using her as a pawn. I only opened to the door enough to get to the bathroom garbage can and this lady sitting with the crying girl like grabbed me and told me to stay and help her. o.O Apparently she didn't want...to deal with it? So I sat down while she cried while the other lady tried any excuse to leave. Then she sent in others who basically yelled at her...in a positive way? Not sure that works out so well.... but yeah. I didn't have much to say.
I got my make up done by some girl I've never seen before and she caked blood on my face like...overly and in the weirdest spots like right in the middle of my cheek as if my cheek just...random started bleeding? no cut or scar? Whatever... We did warm ups and went to our rooms and I was kinda bummed that I had to do the strobe light manually instead of using the sensor. I wanted to run around the room using the sensor to help me out, but nooo. So I was stuck in the one corner holding a button and lack of movement and I played with the air pressure hose too. I think I got blood all over it too... so sticky. Me and Brian played around for a while in the dark. teehee.
So 7:26 rolls around and Zack comes into my room and says "can you go to Castle of Chaos tonight?" "uhh....." huh? Apparently Chaos is understaffed and they need actors badly tonight so Audrey said she'd send some actors from her place to his. She felt bad for asking/sending me and I later learned why, but she said she wanted to send 2 really good actors opposed to 5 crappy actors. I'm not sure how to take that or if she really ment that... Is she calling me good actor? Does she normally call ppl in her cast crappy actors? All her awards bogus? o.O whatever. I told her I'd go to Chaos if she'd give me a beanie (extra points to get a beanie) and she said she would. :D
So.....My first time going to Chaos, ever, at all. Quickly change out of the costume, run out the back while Mansion opens and drive down to 3300 south and walk in with bloody face in time to be asked "are you acting tonight?" "No... I just wear this make up for the fun of it... YES I'm acting tonight!" He said he needed a Piper? Pepper? something? He gave me a semi white dress to put on and some big manager guy in chains and weapons led me to my room. He said I was going to be an illusion, a ghost if you will who looks like they are behind a glass wall or something. Its really just two hallways in L shape and a mirror at an angle inbetween. So I can see them on one end of the hall and they can see me through the mirror at the other end. Kinda weird. He showed me the green light to shine on myself and dim myself out.
It was an easy night after that. All I did was shine a light on me when ppl came through and acted like I was trapped in a box aka my soul trapped in the underworld. I was SO curious all night to see what it looked like. I did feel really stupid tho most of the time. I swear most ppl didnt even see me, didn't notice, either walked to fast or just not paying attention. I felt totally useless most of the time. There were a few times customers made comments and that was the only time I learned what I could do better and what they could and could not see. It felt like they had to look through a freaking telescope to see me for some reason "do you see the ghost? here, look over here? do you see it now? can you see it moving?" Oy. Seriously? Is it that hard? Can you only see me if I'm moving? I'm sure it was operater error, but who knows.
If they stayed by the door too long staring or simply curious I'd rush out of the light and down the hall and jump out at them and scream so they'd kinda get an idea of how it worked. Jumping out only worked a lil' bit so I didn't do it much, usually they walked too quickly and were focusing on going into the scary room next to me. Speaking of the room next to me, they had some totally awesome screams! They had shovels that they'd bang on the floor and make sparks and crap with and even the guys were screaming. I'm not sure where they were hiding or what they did but there was screaming throughout that whole section behind me. The funniest screams were the chinese/korean ppl that came in....
One guy jumped when something popped out at him and he did a quick scream and the scream turned into a "ah! so! ...startled!" Who ...who does that? Who names their emotion while they are...having it? It was funny. One girl had a very nice crescendo.
I talked to the guy in the next room who wanted to talk to the 'newbie to chaos'. He said he has been put in the same role every night for the past night. He has been perfecting his scares and room for like a month. Thats kinda not cool. I wasnt really impressed with Chaos to begin with, but as I learned more it just...wasn't the place for me. It was a lot smaller than Mansion. A lot smaller green room/free space. They actors didn't watch their language and they...said well, offensive things that I didnt have the patience to hear at 11:30pm at night. Or I didnt understand half the conversations cuz it was infested with the "f" work so much I didn't get the intended sentence. They didn't have ...great make up either. They barely even had make up. Our clowns look soo much better.
It took -forever- to start the casting meeting so it took forever to get out of the building. They did have a lot of immature ppl, I would specify ages but well, they all seemed immature no matter their age... It just wasn't a great place to be for me. The other actor who came from Mansion complained about it also, cept he did it in their presence. I dont think that was appropriate, but whatever, make as many enemies as you want I dont care. I certainly ain't going back tho. I had my first impression, my experience, my curious look and I'm done. They gave us shiny dollars for coming to help them out. whee.
So tonight is my last night acting. Kinda nice, kinda sad. I'm gonna act one last time in a nicer environment in a different role, get a beanie and split. mwhaha. Then I can get some things done on Friday before going home. I'm kinda exhausted from the past 1.5 weeks. I dont know if I'm gonna survive going home for the weekend and having such energy for parties. I just want to sleep for 1.5 weeks now or watch scary movies for the next five days.
I'm so excited to watch my movies and play with my new toys. On Pandora I put my music choice as like LMNT and now I'm listening to songs I haven't heard in...forever. The songs that I put on repeat over and over in middle school and Kirri wanted to kill me. Its soo awesome to hear these songs again! Blink182, Nsync, backstreet boys, 3 doors down, All-American Rejects, Train etc. Lovin' it. They do have the lame teen pop kind of songs with weird band names "Huckapoo", but some are kinda catchy. I'm sure we all, at one point, put our favorite song on repeat over and over in middle school, but now we have so many songs we like we just put our playlists on shuffle.
