The bosses Bday next week while I'm gone. Thought I'd give him a pressie today, thought it'd be relevant for the billing today.
I found a ink stamp on stupid.com that says "Deal with This" and some options around it to make it sound nice or mean, boxes you can check that say "pretty please", "now", "correctly", "quietly," "for pete's sake" etc. I thought it'd be handy with the bills. He usually uses a frownie face stamp that says please to request past due balances from clients to be paid. I thought this would spice it up.
I always get the boss office gag gifts cuz I like giving things and he's a good guy and I dont really want to get him anything anymore personal that. Leave it as somewhat professional business, but still makes him smile. Last year I got him an Easy button from Staples. He needed it with all the stress he was having then. But now he's having more issues getting money/work coming through the office, which is kinda the point of having an office eh.
So it was a gag gift I didn't expect him to actually use it. He even checked some boxes mainly "pretty please" and "for pete's sake". It kinda made me smile the whole time I was doing the bills today seeing that stamp every once in awhile and seeing which client he stamped. *shrugs* So he happens to use my gag gifts, kinda weird.
After I gave it to him he decided to tell me that he is old and his medical history in case he keels over at his desk. He's not that old. But anyway, he decided to tell me about his history with passing stones. Turns out he juss happens to be passing one today, as we spoke, lovely. I'm not sure what a bday gift has to do with his passing stones all his life, but he did wish upon me that I never have one in my life, so I'll take that as a man way of saying he likes the gift.
