Fri, Sept 9 - By Friday we felt we had pritti seen and done all there is to do in Monterey CA. But Min had some stuff in mind out in Pacific Grove so we went over there to check out a Museum they had for all the wildlife around. I guess the highlight of the place was the huge whale out front and the "Spirit Nest" made out of wood in the back where apparently the homeless live...
Evan was feeling sick (he went to bed early the night before) and I seemed to have gotten a headache from the mist/rain that had come during the night so we went back to Min's house and we all laid down for a bit. I downloaded my pics to Mins compy so she could use her social network and show the world not that I wanted ppl to know where I was vacationing and with who. :P jk
Then around 3pm we got some energy back and we didn't want to sit around at home the last day of vacation so we went back to Pacific Grove and checked out the lighthouse. Found that mostly women have faithfully piloted the whole lighthouse deal and despite their unwaivering diligence to the lighthouse there had been shipwrecks due to weather, fog, storms, etc., but no fault to the lighthouse! It was there and it was lit if not simply because a woman was doing the job. mwhaha Girl power. Jk.
Then we went on the main 'drag' of Pacific Grove and went up and down the street looking at the stores and food places. The stores kinda sucked, all for hoity toity older women who spend hundreds of dollars on their old lady apparell. And the food was expensive, gross, or in another language. Not sure how to try new food without every really knowing what it is your ordering. So we were headed back to Monterey when we found a Baskin Robbins and Platos Closet. Love that store, had to stop. I ended up buying shoes. I go in to buy long sleeve (my favorite) and he ends up finding shoes the perfect size for me. Then we had some ice cream. Dessert first. I was craving a salad super bad. So we carried on to Cannery Row again and found a cheaper place to find a salad and he got a sandwhich. The Ceasar Salad had -way- too much ceasar in it and the chicken was dry. That icky taste stayed in my mouth for a while. Ew. His steak sandwhich was good he said tho.
It was about 7:30 and we decided to head to Lovers Point to end our trip with seeing the ocean one last time and, for me, playing in the sand. I love the sand. Real sand. So much salt its like playdough. Totally awesome. Definitely not like Bear Lake sand. Anyways. There was apparently a triatholon happening that weekend we were leaving and they were setting up at Lovers Point. But we went out to the "point" and sat and watched the waves hit the rocks. The actual sound of waves. Not running rivers/creeks next to my tent when I'm sleeping at camp that I'm used to, but real rush in and out, crashing wave sounds. It was bonita. A little bit of fog muddling the city behind us. Not super cold wind. Peace and quiet. Perfect.
But it started to get dark and we decided to climb down from the "point" while we could still see. Then we headed back to Monterey in Claines truck for the last time. They had a giant cookie cooking in the oven when we got back and chinese in the fridge. We all sat down and watched a movie until the kids bedtime.
Sat, Sept 10 - A nice sleeping in morning. Remembering to print the plane tickets. Packing. Having a somewhat extra bag despite all the gifts I bought. Braxtons soccer game at 10am. (we had no other plans) Time to leave CA. Grabbing some food and eating in the car as we went out to Point Lobos and walked some trials to the cabin and along the shoreline. If we would have had better weather the past two days I think we would've planned a hiking trip at Point Lobos, but taking one or two trails wasn't that bad. I got cramps and a lil gas tho and it made it discomforting and I was ready to go.
K, so, our flight leaves at 5:30, so we want to be there an hour early right? Well we were at Lobos at 1:30 and stayed for an hour and left at 2:30. It takes about an hour and a half to get to the airport which would land us there at 4, with of course, 30 minutes extra in case of any bad traffic. Boy was freaking out at 1pm. He wanted to go now or an hour ago. I was fine being an hour early. We left at 2:30 and got there at 4pm with no traffic and he juss wanted to go in and sit in the airport. No dinner or anything. Sigh. An hour and a half early. And guess what there was no lines, no crowds, no problems checking in bags and getting through security. AND guess what else happens, it turns out the plane is running late! So we were quite literally an 1 1/2 early. Min would be home by the time our plane left. But I guess its better early than late in this situation eh? The only reprieve was knowing there was a Jamba Juice there waiting for me. He, of course, had his compy to occupy his time he had no problem or boredom. Pff. Boy. I played with the things I bought while I waited. We were boarded around 5:40pm and off to Vegas.
After my last plane ride coming from SC to UT and how long that took even with a stop in Chicago these 1.5 hour trips there in the west was like Whoa. Still cant seem to control my bladder when flying tho. The boy was immediately and constantly entertained by something while I juss tried not to drink too much and hold my head when ascending and decending feeling my head slowly explode from the inside out and sometimes eating a bit. I did manage to play some games on my DS tho. Apparently a game of Trouble lasts longer than an hour cuz I could never finish the stupid game before we were landing. Got back around 10pm instead of 9:30, Evans phone wouldnt work in the airport, used mine to call Shana. They came in Dannys car with the trunk full already so we carried our carry-ons on our lap. Sleeping nephew in the back. Gave them their pressie we bought them and then went to see mah dog! Yay my cute puppywuppykins is still alive and well!
A Sunday to rest from our travels. Satisfaction. Well, besides having to go to work on Monday.

Oh Yeah, and James, yer still an asshole. There was something off about this whole day and then I looked at the date and I remembered you and remembered this was the day you were born. To the boy who is still alive simply because I cant afford a hit man.
