Scotts Birfday
8 years old.
Chucky Cheese in Sandy
December 13, 2008
On his birfday (11th) it was a great day.
But nooo..when they celebrate it it's on a day with the worst snow storm. We managed to get to Sandy. The carpool lane kept smashing into the wall though - it was slick.
Now Chucky Cheese.
I think... that place officially sucks.
But hey, whatev- it's not my birthday.
We found Dustin sitting at the table with Cole and all the kids and..the rest of the adults out playing in the lil' game room. When I say little. I mean little. Tight, cramped, a lot of machines shoved in there. It's just like the Fun Park in Logan - tokens to go play the games an' stuff.
The pizza sucked. The cake was like double chocolate, but good. And Chucky, well, he was just scary.
We all watched Scott dance with Chucky. And the Chucky march. (Everytime I write I swear it's Chunky, not Chucky) Now, for the ppl in our family this would just be a cruel embarrassing moment that would never be spoken of again, but for Scott, he doesn't mind I guess. We were all just glad it wasn't us. :D Especially after we watched our "hostess" dance with Chucky with the Happy Birthday song. How much does she get paid to do that? They need more energy. I know someone who would have lots of energy for something like that. My Resa. :D
Cole was mesmorized by the giant figures on the giant stage singing Christmas songs. They were close enough to clowns to me. Four giant sized clowns on the stage singing. Braxton was mesmorized too. They were both tired. Scott and Hayden just kept telling me that they were fake. I sat at the kid table if you can't tell. I made the most of it being someone elses birthday. It was fun.
Presents. I gave him two mini skateboards (finger boards). I tried to be excited for him with each present he got. He gave the sour looks when he got clothes. We'll blame Grandma Law fer that one. When he opened mine he says "cool!" Yeah, thats right, I got a cool from an eight year old. I'm so cool! Rock on! Then when he was done he wanted to play with my present first, but his Dad told him to wait until they left Chucky Cheeses to play with it. Boo yah!
If he's excited by fake little skateboards (he wants a real one - thas the closest I was gonna get) then his Christmas gift is gonna be more than a cool right?! Cuz I got him Iron Man action figure. He loves Iron Man so much he went out and bought it with his 'own' money and watches it all the time. I rock at this game, now that he's older.
I wrapped up all the Christmas presents for the family. Dustins and Scotts took up most of my 20 ft of wrapping paper I bought with penguins. I have a present for everyone in the family and I only spent $100. Including Dads and Scotts birfday. Yeah, I know, I'm cheap. Get over it. At least they all have some more to open at Christmas. Ya know it don't cost a lot to just make someone smile while opening something.
With Scotts bday and all the weekend was hectic...yelling at boys, making food, feeding the food, cleaning up the food, remembering to eat said food, cleaning up the house after yelling at the boys, etc. So tired. I'm glad it was over. I got to sit down and read fer a bit.
Everyone wants to know why Grandma and I didnt have a Christmas tree. During all this construction downstairs, frankly, we didn't know where it was. Let alone the decorations. So they got it out for us and put it up. We were all pooped so we watched Mum do it.
Then after everyone went home a phone started ringing in my room and it turned out to be me Mums. So I mailed a phone back to her today. I wrapped it all up in wrapping paper and pretended it was a 'gift'. The lady at the post office said to use the machine to send it cuz it was easy fer people "my age" to use it then those in the long line in front of me. She was really nice. I've never used the machine before, it was cool. She commented on who it was to "My darling mother" she says "awww, I want a present that says that".
Then I came to work and found everyone scrambling to get a brief done. Patsy left in a frenzy and soon a phone went off in her office. Apparently she left it, all her kids were calling her. (She's supposed to be picking up her kids) They each took turns and I answered her phone fer a few minutes. Good thing I don't have to mail this phone.
It's interesting answering other ppls phones tho. Have to remember to turn the phone off to prevent a post office nightmare. :D
Then I spent this Monday delivering briefs to the Supreme Court and the opposing counsel. But ya know, I don't think I'll miss this too much. I'm ready to be in a small town again. It was kinda fun tho. Everyone stared at me all bundled up and hidden under my hood. They smiled.
On the other stupid hand, I think Surian will warm up to my gift. And I told James I graduated. I think that was a mistake. His first question basically was "do you have a car?" to come to his place of course. No, I did not contact him to be his booty calls again.
Meanwhile, I want warm soup. I want to read. I wish I had the third book of this series instead of spoiling the fourth book right now as I read.
I want a warm hug. A warm smile.
I can finally relax and enjoy the holidays.
Besides the pressure of looking for a job.
