Feeling: unsatisfied

Recent news to report:

I went to IKEA and bought a bed.

Absolutely nothing like the one I've been dreaming/searching for.

So I lugged each boxed part onto a giant cart and maneuvered to self check out. Last minute grabbed a package of cinnamon buns after awkwardly checking out and maneuvered out to the parking lot to my car. I shoved all those awkward sized boxes into my car and with my car loaded down and no gas I left for home. I dragged each box into the house and up the stairs. Heave, ho. Gonna feel that in the morning.

I am putting together some of my fathers childhood history through transcription and while it is mighty interesting and definitely distracting from my work, I find it hard to actually type it the way it -should- be. To hear the older generations talk you can tell their education wasn't as good as todays.... But it's part of who they are, ya know? I found a pattern, my father doesn't really believe the word "were" exists its always "was". Ex: We was going to school that day. I'm finding it very difficult to type it the way he says it, with his personality in it, something to be remembered verses the many years I've been in school learning proper English that is so important in the career I've chosen! The jist my job is to take what the boss says and turn it into english, proper english, that makes sense. He just talks. Then it is even more difficult to go from writing in slang, if you will, back to the proper stuff I do here at work. But I am soo much more interested in typing my fathers stuff than the bosses. Probably not a good thing, but I only have about 10 more pages to go before I'm done with this tape and will be craving more from his past.

Other than discovering Grandmothers concoction of homemade minestrone soup, I do not have much else to report. I wonder, does she wake up in the morning and think, "Maybe I'll just put all these different food items into a pot and cook it up and see what it's like? And the things she puts on her sandwhiches...don't even get me started. But as weird as it was it was the only homemade meal I had this whole week and I am extremely thankful.
