Getting back from D.C. kinda felt like starting anew.
Institute classes have ended, new callings have been received, new duties and activities to engage in, no more Evan, and new dates/boys to think about.
I got brave this last Sunday and asked Nick out. He couldn't go on the date I planned, so we created a new one. But I still needed a date for the night I have tix to Sweet Charity. So I went to the stake center where I always run into Branden and finally asked him to go. I almost immediately regretted it after seeing him socialize with his friends. But hey, both these boys were, one day, going to be brave enough to ask me out so I might as well get it over with and ask them on my terms and go where I wanna go.
Then next Tues I have a date with Natalie. She bought me tix to my fav theatre to see Arsenic and Old Lace. I think it'll be hiliarious. I always love those theatre performances even of shows/musicials I've never seen before. And then I still have baseball tix for later this month I need to find someone to take. Who knows maybe there might be a second date...
Anyways, I ran into this little shop selling accessories, perfect for Mothers Day, they have 5 for $20 like permanent sale. I bought me some stuff, new pink sunglasses and a braclet and such. When I went to the front he said these "name rings" were on the sale also, not normally, but for the time being. I could get 5 rings and have whatever I wanted written on them for $20. I did one just for a test run and had "Love,me" written on it with hearts. It was cute and then the wheels started turning.
I started texting ppl like crazy. I started texting the girls asking for their sizes cuz I was thinkin I could get them all such for Mothers Day. But then I thought it might be cuter and might help out the boys if I did it for them. So I texted all the boys/husbands after I got ring sizes on most of the girls. I asked if they could express their love in one small sentence to go on a ring, what would they say.
Needless to say, it took many hours for most of them to give up an answer. Claine answered immediately with like a perfect answer. Dad came up with "Best Wife Ever". I didn't think he needed to like...mock her in some way. I'm pritti sure he thinks that's the last thing she is the best at.... So I attempted to amend that sentence without being rude... and he came up with "Sorry we met" ?? Oh dear. This wasn't working.
Dustin came up with a generic answer. Dallin came up with something unique that apparently, I'm hoping, means something special to the two of them. And since Natalie is allergic to like all rings I decided to text Kara's husband. He came up with something she is apparently 'in love with' for the time being.
So I went back the next day to do the rings and he said the sale was now 6 for $20. Sweet. So I made another one for me. I made it a bit bigger this time. The first one is kinda snug. I'm not getting any skinner.... So I got six rings for a slamming deal and helped the boys out in the gift area a little bit hopefully.
"Always & Forever" - mine
"pump 4ever" - Dallins
"We love you" - Dustin
"Love you always" - Dad
"Thank U 4 loving me" - Claine
"Que Sera Sera" - Aaron
So now that I gave my gift idea to the boys, what am I gonna get the girls?
Claines family is coming back home for the summer for a job and if the contract renews they'll take home, otherwise they'll pack up AGAIN and move back east. This is like the 5th time moving in the last 2-3 years? So tired of it, I bet they are. But he came back home for drill and so I told him to stop by and pick up the ring and a card for mah sister before he went back to her so he could give it to her on Mothers Day. I wouldn't see her until after the day.
He mentioned Thank You For Loving Me was the name of 'their song' and she played it all the time when he was gone for three weeks in Mar-Apr (gone for their anniversary). She missed him. He said it would make her cry. He says all this after he says he'll give me credit for the gift. Pff. I didn't know any of that. It would be weird from me now. It has to be from him. They are in the middle of packing an' all and prolly driving on Mothers Day I figgered he wouldn't be thinkin too much about a gift or anything and he already missed their Anniversary. So I was juss...helping out and giving him something quick to give her in time. Something meaningful but small so she didn't have to pack it in their stuff while driving home.
It makes me feel good inside knowing that it means something special to her and that I asked the right person of what to write that would be meaningful. I juss don't have the same words for these women as their husbands do. I thought I had a good chance that at least 1 out of 5 of the rings would be meaningful and special to someone and worth the texting and prying of words from the boys. At least one should touch someones heart! Right?
And I have an extra one in case I forgot any mothers... But I still dont know what to get them...
I got cards! How about that?
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
"I swear that I can go on forever again
Please let me know that my one bad day will end
I will go down as your lover, your friend
Give me your lips and with one kiss we begin
Are you afraid of being alone
Cuz I am, I'm lost without you
Are you afraid of leaving tonight
Cuz I am, I'm lost without you"
