April 19, 2011 (Tuesday)
Alright I think I'm ready to talk Bday stuff now that the Easter weekend is over.
Well, starting on Monday or was that Tues the 19th? I dont remember I kinda went binge shopping online at Amazon for ...um random things really. I spent like $80 on random things that would be mailed to me randomly/daily throughout my bday week. yay. A surprise every day!
Then on Tuesday I got no texts and no lunch from Evan cuz he was running around buying all the pressies I had pointed out to him Monday night when we went to the mall. Patsy was the first to text me Happy Bday. Natalie decided to text the song Happy Bday one word at a time just to be annoying. My dad texted like 15 minutes to midnight. Kellie, Kirri and Ryker texted too. Mum and Mindy both texted Happy 16th. Grr. (Due to the inside joke of that flight attendant yelling/asking if I was 15 years old) Arthur said "Happy Terminator Day"..... And Evan wouldn't stop saying it all day.
Then he had to get off 'early' (at 5pm) to get to the apartment before me and he attempted to wrap my pressies before I got there. That didn't work. He wanted to go to Trolley Square to pick up his won concert tickets before they closed, wrap my pressies and have me drive him to Trolley. Oy. I watched his crazy nervous behavior as I drove. I saw him take all the pressies out of the bag and attempt to wrap it in his lap. He only tried to wrap it cuz I told him early that bdays come with wrapped pressies. Oy. I just wanted to play with them right then not see them painfully wrapped. I hate driving downtown at rush hour. I made him go in while I played with pressies. Then I made him drive out of downtown.
He got me this tank top I liked at Forever 21, some toe rings, an ear cuff, two headbands (all from Claires or Icing) and he made me two mix CD's. I ordered from Amazon a Bedazzler and the jewels, pink hair extensions, CD's and DVD's, and a mouse pad with a kitty on it. eee! I like pressies.
He took me to a salon place to get a pedicure. I've never had one before. I'm not sure where they were from, but it was slightly difficult to understand her questions as she did my pedicure. I chose a pink color of course and she decided to put some flowers on my big toes also. They all learned it was my Bday.
Then we went down to Braza Grill (Brazilian Steakhouse) on State Street in Murray. We had issues with the whole 'where to eat thing' cuz thas apparently what his family does, just go out to eat for Bdays and I didn't really wanna go out for a "Bday dinner" so I told him to pick a place he wanted to go. He chose meat. I wasn't in the mood but I got there pritti quick when they pulled out like 6 diff kinds of meat and I found a few of my favorite kinds. They were actually grilled and you could taste the proof. Kind of awesome. They also have a lil' salad bar too. I thought of Dustin and Dallin. They'd love that place.
We finished around 8:30pm and headed downtown again to Massage Envy to get a professional couples massage. I've had one before but it was awhile ago and I didnt remember where so I just told them it was my first time and that totally ate that crap up. They have to fill out this huge ol' survey to get the 'trouble parts' or whatever. I told them my shoulders and lower back from sitting at a desk all day and told them to massage me "light", whatever that means right? He asked for more of his legs and lower back. Anyways we had to go pee after drinking and eating so much at the restaurant like 15 minutes before so we went and I opened the door and our two massage therapists and him were standing outside my bathroom door... a lil' awkward. I got the therapist with kind of a pixie/boy hair cut and tats all over the place. She looked mean and Evan was scared of her, but he juss got the other girl that had a boy haircut, maybe it was somewhat of a mullet.
I have very conflicted feelings about that massage. Light apparently means dig your super strong thumbs into my every muscle and sometimes that was okay and sometimes it...wasn't so how are you supposed to correct that -every- time right? And then trying to get my shoulders to relax....man oh man.... not a lovely experience. They did have some good tricks to make the muscle respond in different ways. I guess the most effective on me was like shaking the muscle a bit instead of just kneading it or pinching it (its how it felt) she juss kinda shook it a bit. On my back she put two fingers around my shoulder blades and just like shook them, like vibrating and it tickled like no other. It was the arms and legs that felt her super strong thumb pressing down on muscles and following them all the way down the arm/leg. Felt kinda like a steamroller, so it doesn't hurt, or bruise, but the next day you can tell something... happened to yer body. I was worried about my operated/half arm. I forgot to put that on the survey thing and I knew her thumb would just kill my arm if she did it that hard. But she saw the thin skin and was a bit more gentler with it. Phew. After the hour they left to let us dress and we complained about and praised some of their skills and then opened the door and they were both standing outside the door waiting for us again with cups of water. o.O Again, kinda creepy.
Now all in all it was a lovely experience, the pain didn't totally exceed the relaxation. The reason I know this is cuz well...after being in a laying down position, being 90% relaxed, and still trying to disgest like 6 kinds of meat and all the water that went with it... your body kind of... is relax enough that the food it digested feels like it could come out so easily. Laying down and being relaxed I didn't feel it as much, but when I sat up after the hour massage all that food just wanted to explode out my back end. Note to self: Dont get a massage immediately after stuffing yourself full of food. So it was a good experience I juss wish it didn't end with my body being relaxed enough to rid everything from it. All I could think about after being that relaxed was going to bed holding someone or being held. I thought the waking up morning experience would be better but you could tell the body got run over with something last night.
And that was my actual Bday night. We'll make that day sound a lil' more pleasant with a simple: I went to work, got pressies, got a pedicure, eat really good food, and then got a nice massage before bedtime.
Side note:
So I asked the boss to get me a real name plate to put on my desk instead of the paper name tag I made in college so the teacher knew my name. He went to the Trophy place he usually orders such things and the lady gave him many choices of styles and colors and he kinda lost it. Lost it so much in fact he decided to get the colors brown and green. Green to match the carpet of the office (WTF?) and brown to match the brown couch thats in the office (WTF?!?!). Seriously? Who gets name plates in colors to match their carpet?! That they want to replace soon anyway? Its that emerald/marble green and a light brown that looks like a dogs fresh poo. But whatever. I did ask him to do it. I do acknowledge that if I wanted it done right I should've done all the work (picking) and juss told him to go get/pay for it. It was my fault I do realize. But I got a name plate now! I'll take what I can get! Its the thought that counts right? Its the most I'll get out of my boss on my bday right? Ppl are still amused by my last name. I'm not sure I can give up my last name now, maybe juss cuz of these colors I'd be more willing... I'm glad this isn't on Facebook I might get fired like everyone else on Facebook who employers monitor their employees Facebook accounts.
