Feeling: curious

So there I was asleep in my bed at 1:30 in the morning induced with basically the best invention ever Nyquil to make me sleep soundly when I woke up to paws on my kitchen floor. A normal sound I hear and with my door wide open and nightlight I can usually see a black blob of my dog leave the kitchen into the laundry room/outside door. This time I opened my eyes and saw only four white legs leaving my kitchen into the laundry room. That's odd I thought. I looked down on my bedroom to see my usual black blob of a dog laying on my floor. Well, if Max is here, what dog was that in my kitchen? The only white pawed/legged dog I know is Duke, the next door neighbor. I listened a little longer and heard him eat some dog food and take a drink from the bowl all the while I'm looking at my dog a lil' confused. My dogs collar klanks on the side of the bowl when he drinks, Duke is juss simply a loud drinker. But I wasn't too worried only wondered why he was in my house/yard.

But Max, on the other hand, was freaked that another dog was in his house so early in the morning. He was concerned. He was so cute. It was like a 3 year old that juss saw Santa Clause, running to mommy with his eyes all bugged out like "did you just see what I saw?" not sure if he's excited or slightly scared and shaking mommy awake. He stood up just as Duke was leaving the kitchen and he whiped around started nudging my hand and face like he does when he needs/wants something, his ears all perked up and eyes wide awake. If only that dog could talk. Hey Hey! Did you see that! Someones in the house! I think its Duke! Wake up! Go kick him out! Me being awake already and already knowing what his deal was, I was not bothered by his attepts to get me out of bed. So he does inform me when others are in the house (when he knows about it, what a watch dog he is), just not when my roommate comes home. Thinking back I should've tested his level of understanding and asked him what the matter was and seen if he would show me what he was all excited about. See if he totally would've tattled on Duke or not.

He kinda tried to tell me/show me that Duke had come in the back door, but I knew Duke had gone to the front by then so I went to the front window and looked out and sure enough there was Duke and Redd in my yard at 1:30 in the morning. Sigh. I'm fine with Duke, but I hate Redd. He juss a young yappy puppy that no one will train. He only learned how to get in my yard cuz of Duke and thankfully he hasn't realized how Duke gets in my house yet. Not looking forward to that day. -_-

Anyways. I got some shoes and a jacket on and contemplated on how I'd get the dogs back in their yard. Duke was easy, he answered to his name, but Redd didn't have a collar to hold nor did he mind. Meanwhile Max ran outside to see who was there and ran into the little pup. I think Redd is totalllyyy jealous of Max. Envious little dog. He sees Max get fed by the neighbors and attention and Max doesn't even bark. Redd sits in the corner and juss barks all day at everybody esp those that pay attention to Max. Redd juss looked like he wanted to play and started running circles around Max. Max is old and doesn't tolerate young pups anymore so he made some "back off" statements with some growls and nips. Redd took that as a sign Max wants to play. *rolls eyes* So Redd started growling and nipping back, while his was more playful, Max was serious. I've never seen my dog lose his patience and act out so much with no guilt, usually he is super worried if he losing his patience with kids, but apparently he gets the vibe that no one likes this dog so no one will care if he's hurt.

Anyways, by then I had grabbed Redd by the scruff of his neck and was pulling him toward the gate, but Max juss wouldn't stop. He kept running at Redd and growling and nipping at him, so I got Redd in one hand, walking, and pushing Max off him with the other hand. I thought I'd have more issues once I opened the gate but Max stayed in his yard, where his boundary line ended, and Redd didn't run off and Duke juss stared at me like "can I come to?" Duke is cute. I'm currently mad at Max and Redd, but Duke is all calm and staring at me cute like. So I stop yelling at Max and Redd and return to my calm voice "Duke come on" letting him know he can come out of my yard. I drag Redd over to his gate and open it and shove him in. I thought he'd jump right back out but he went straight to his 'envious of max corner' and barked at Max. But because Redd went in his yard with no problems I could calmly let Duke know he could go inside next.

Then I saw Redd barking near the part of the fence where he and Duke recently crawled through to get to my yard so I grabbed a couple of things and shoved it between the tree and the fence so they couldn't get back in again. Its only a matter of time eh? Usually Glenn keeps them in the house at night so I was a bit curious why they weren't inside. All his outside lights were on, dogs outside, no sign of Glenn. I was slightly concerned about Glenn's welfare. Well that event got Max all riled up and apparently the whole neighborhood cuz dogs were barkin everywhere the rest of the night. I'm sure something was happening to make them all bark like that but I wasn't willing to get up to see what it was. Max kept trying to get me to get up the next two hours to see what the dogs were barking at, but I wouldn't.

Mind you, I was doped up on drugs and it was in the middle of the night. As long as it wasn't dealing with me and my property I dont care what they barking at I felt at the time. I wonder if that ever happened before while I was away in CA for the week.

I dont mind Duke coming into my yard or even my house every so often (I might want to steal him) but I can't have him teaching Redd stuff. Redd, man, I hate that dog. He got no respect, no training, no collar, no tags, so you cant tell if he's even had his shots and if he's a danger to the neighborhood. Juss not cool.

Thus my night last night when I supposed to be resting peacefully and like a log so that I might feel better this morning. And of course, the boy is knocked out cold through out all this. He'd never understand if the dog was trying to tell him something or not.

Well, at least it was juss a dog and not a...real intruder. Look how attentive I am about protecting my dog and property even when drugged. I'm so totally awesome.
