April 23, 2011 (Easter Eve)

I went home Friday night for the Easter weekend and we just went to the house and chilled til bedtime. Cole and Brax were there cuz their mom went to CA to help her hubby so the kids were being passed back and forth from Grandparents and I was supposed to bring them back to SLC and pick up Min at the airport also.

Natalie, Arthur and Sara were going to the American West Heritage Center (the farm) to see the baby animals tis the season and invited me and Resa to come too. I figgered the two boys would want to come too and they wouldn't wanna stay as long as us grown ups could so I brought Mum to take the boys back when they were done. I ended up paying for everyone too. Mum said I had to pay for the boys which I was planning but she couldn't spare $5. hah whatever. Anyways we caught up with Natalie and Art and Resa came soon after. She was in boots and a white dress and a red trenchcoat/jacket and smelly aroma. She's funny and cute. It looked like a city girl juss walked onto the farm.

I introduced Evan and Arthur. I said to Arthur "This is Evan" and Evan said something like "Nice to meet you Arthur" and Art started chewing me out. Hah! I didn't officially introduce him as 'arthur' its juss what Evan called him. He goes by Art. I'm the only one that calls him Arthur so when I talked to Evan about him I had always called him Arthur and Evan juss..picked up on that and continued to reference him that way. It was funny tho.

They had a train there too so we all ended up waiting in the long line for the train that took you in a circle around a...swamp of some kind twice. Not really great, but the kids loved it. I wanted to ride it but Evan and Resa didn't. pff. I made them anyway. Awkward or not, worth it or not, its fun dangit! So many things have changed since I've been to that farm.

We held chickens and ducks and pet drugged up cows. We watched Sara ride the ponie. We held baby turtles and bunnies. Mum came to get me specifically to get me to buy the boys balloon animals. Cole got a snail. Brax got a sword and belt for it and promptly wanted to go home. We were there for about 2 or 3 hours. And it didn't rain! That farm becomes a mud hole when its raining, I remember that. Evan learned that I worked there and seemed surprised...

Evan is good with kids...and it seems thats who he would rather be with than me during our time on the farm. That and he has the patience like my father. Always 20 steps ahead of you. Kind of annoyed me a bit. Brax and Evan seemed to be buddies. I made Gma bring the stroller so she couldn't be holding Cole the whole time which was a possibility. Cole didn't really want to touch ..anything. He held the bunnie for a second tho. I went back and forth with Resa and Natalie. Resa and Sara seemed to be such great friends... Its kinda weird that my two best friends are ...friends now. It took awhile, but I'm glad it happened.

Then we split up to recoup before reconvening at 5pm for dinner. Evan was starving and becoming grumpy so we went to Arbys where I ate more than him. Then we talked about going to Renegade Sports cuz he wanted to do that while we were up there but he decided he was too tired so we went home and ...pretended to nap and watched TV. Then we went to the store and bought some food for dinner and showed up at Natalies.

Dinner with Resa, Caleb, Art, Natalie, Sara, me and Evan. Perfect round of ppl. :D Art made alfredo and I brought the fetticine pasta to cook. We had breadsticks and garlic bread, fruit, brocolli, and espharagus. It was wonderful. I was always the last one eating/snacking. I took my time and put in as much as I could. We weren't into asking for things at that table I noticed... We all demanded food and objects. Natalie would ask Art to go get something and he wouldn't move, complain or be slow so Resa gets up and runs to the kitchen. bah hah. What a great host.

I didn't have to demand my pressies tho. Resa couldn't seem to wait anymore. :D! I luff her. She makes me smile. She gave me bubbles! Which reminded me of her wedding and the pic of me blowing bubbles in which she said something about it being her fav pic of her wedding besides some pic having to do with her hubby of some kind... She got me socks and one of those dart guns that are so ever popular at my mums house. I got one of my own now! She got me a necklace and some button pins with like robots on them. yyaay for pressies. She made me a cake too! With strawberries on it! Art complained through cake and ice cream time about the strawberries. Whinybutt he is. Then I started shooting ppl with my gun. Sara went to take a bath and Art was leaning over the tub to help her and I got some cheap shots at him. I think its fun to discover when a person starts to really get to know you and reacts...in the way they should when they know I'm holding a dart gun of any kind... Evan runs...hides.. and covers himself. heehee. Then they turn on me and attack me.

Then we played games. Resa wanted Settlers of Catan first, then Monopoly prolly Evans suggestion, and then I saw they had Battle of the Sexes and noticed we had three boys and three girls and thought it'd be fun to try that. Never played it before. Those were interesting games. Yay for inside jokes! 1-4-3 and Demi Moore. I thought these questions would not be such trivia..and more...seeming realistic to men and women. Most of the questions we were asking neither gender knew nor cared I juss thought it would be more personal rather than...trivia. I dunno. It was hard.

We played from like 6:30/7ish til 9:30pm. After we shortened Battle of the Sexes to end the night Resa and Caleb went home and then me Mum called and asked if I could get some potatoes that she fergot at the store. So we left to Wally World and went home. Natalie was getting tired and sick anyways. But we stayed up and watched Angels and Demons and fell asleep in bed. Soo cold in that dungeon. Good sleep.

Overall it was a very nice Bday experience. I got some me (and whoever I wanted) time, some friend time and some family time and no pressure for any of it. No big deals or annoying repetitions. Everyone played it cool and kind of sneaky. And the coolest part was that I realized that it was prolly my first Bday party I had with -both- my best friends at the same time! In High School they didn't really like each other for some reason and I had to hang out with them separately and celebrate separately...but not this year. Its kinda weird to hang out with them both now to be honest, but I wonder why I couldn't have done this years before. And even better was the fact that I wasn't a 5th wheel at my own party! I think Evan had fun. I could tell he liked Arthur and his simple way of things and he liked Resas humor. They didn't make him feel old or awkward and he laughed a lot...

and I still fell in love with his smile that night...
