Evan went to see his kids tonight and suddenly he came up with the brillant idea of bringing Charlotte to Logan with us... I had planned on shoving my dog and my dads chair in the backseat of my car and Evan and I up front and hoping I had room for whatever I brought back with me. He asked if that was okay and I started asking questions, but my mistake was saying "Sure if you want to" before I started asking questions. Does that mean I shouldn't/can't take my dog? Does that mean we have to come back earlier? Does that mean we can't do some activities while there? etc. He juss took it as a yes and suddenly 'Charlotte is soo excited'. Looks like we're taking a kid.
I dont know if that really sounds fun to a kid driving that far, doing the kinds of things we were gonna go, sleep at a strangers house, get stuck with a dog, be without her mother for two nights, go to a different church, etc. And if its not fun fer her then it wouldn't be fun for us either so it didn't seem like a good combo, but he had already spilled the beans. So here we go.

Evan decided that he was getting off work early and picking up Charlotte and then we were going to leave ASAP. o.O I was working on getting a VCR/DVD combo from someone on KSL to give to Gma before we left to Logan. I still had to pack and stop by Gmas to get the dads chair and eat food. He ended up at my house with Charlotte for like an hour while I struggled economically to buy a stupid combo with no remote for $40 b/c I don't think its worth it. Then the nice traffic jam on the way home. Then they had eaten food and I still scrounging for food and all Evan would say (behind his computer) was 'go get packed, lets go'. So I finally found enough food to fill me up and started packing and such a hurry I shoved it all in my laundry bag. He thought it was weird and all my stuff tipped over and fell out in the car and blah blah. Then we stopped by Gmas to replace her VCR combo thing which I didn't really have the patience for, and we got the chair and left.
The whole way up there was Char grabbing, poking, petting, and leaning on my dog. Not to mention the consant verbal communication that came along with it. Over and over and over. Ya know those kids that repeat things until they are responded to cuz they don't think anyone heard them? Yeah. The dog can't talk back. And after 15 times in a row of "good doggie, good doggie". Surely, as any normal human being would, I had grown a headache and needed fresh air. Despite the fear of being a 'complainer' in Evans eyes I told him I had a headache. I stuck my head out the window and he asks concerned "Are you feeling okay?" did....did you not hear that I said I had a headache? No I am not okay right now! And then came the attitude that I was being all whiny and complainy and having a bad attitude about bringing the girl and blah blah look he gives. I didn't want to pay that much money for a stupid vcr thing, I had to wait in the heat for them to come, traffic was annoying, I couldn't find anything to eat, I didnt get any help, I packed in a hurry, I didnt have patience to install Gmas vcr at the time, I was not in the mood to talk to a brick wall who was driving, I was worried about my dog getting mauled by a 4yr old and losing his patience, and I gained a headache through it all. No, it was not a good way to start off a trip with a kid. But you don't ever get to choose 'when' you start off a trip with kids sometimes do ya.
But then he got super annoyed by Char during the car ride too and had to take some deep breaths and I was trying to help him keep his patience. And juss for the record he CANNOT call me a complainer after I met his children. Its juss wrong. That kid can outcomplain me in 10 minutes. It kinda hurts that he'd call me a complainer after knowing his children for so long.
So one quality I do not really appreciate in males, as in the true generalized verison of a male, is the ...short attention span or none there at all? I'd tell him I had a headache, the next question "Are you feeling okay?" ...... *dead signal* or seeing a store I used to go too and saying simply that and then asking if he ever went to that store and the response is "What store?" or pointing at something in road and asking "what is that?" and the response being "What is what?". Things that are already past and hard to explain without a visual and having the lack of patience to explain it all again juss to a "mmm mhmmm" response. And it'd be okay if you could juss say nevermind and they do juss the mmm mhmm thing and move on, but sometimes he actually wants me to explain/repeat what I juss said as if it'd make more sense now that we passed said object on the road.
His girls are MY definition of drama. His definition is juss that they have emotions, feelings, fears, shyness, and weaknesses. Mine is exaggaration of things and the claims of being neglected and treated unfairly and life is so horrible kind of emotions. This girl complained about everything in the car simply cuz she wanted to get out. She complained about the sun, the dog, her legs, the music, etc. She said her legs hurt the last part of the trip and literally cried the rest of the way there. I didn't know if I should believe her or if she juss wanted out of the car so bad that they'd say anything. I was waiting fer her to fake sick so she could get what she wanted. And Evan tried to accomodate all her whines juss so she'd stop and I couldn't...even believe her half the time. If Cole said he was gonna puke, even after whining about everything else, you'd pull the car over ASAP. But if this girl said it I'd look at her like she's crazy if she thinks I'm gonna believe it.
Anyways, despite all her complaining we continued to do the activities we intended on doing that weekend. We stopped by the Summerfest at 9:30-10pm when they were closing up and juss walked around with my dog. He was freaking out with the crowds, music, and busy streets. He seemed/walked like he was delirious or..deaf or...lost...or handicap of some kind? He was juss freaking out. Yet another thing to learn about my dog. Then we went home and put Char to bed. And I talked to me Dad and then a bit with Mum when she got home and then we went to bed.

We went to Summerfest around 10:30-11am and stayed til like 1 or 2pm. He juss walked around the booths and I actually wanted to see...what was in them. We saw paintings and pictures and compared prices and beauty and I ended up getting two pictures of a bunch of leaves. I heart leaves. Then I found my Seasons pictures I wanted so badly the past...two years? I asked if he had the kind I wanted and he said no and we talked and talked about getting one later this fall and then he actually looked and found the one I wanted. I couldn't wait until fall, I wanted it now! So I bought the frame on frame Seasons pictures from Kreig in Salina and he discounted it from $175 to $150 for me and put a wire on it so I could hang it. He's so nice. I was so happy to get my picture!! Then I was ready to go.
Charlotte kept saying all the things she wanted (mainly food) and so her father kept saying we'd get some food to eat there and blah blah. I suggested we juss go home and not spend the money on this expensive fair type of food and he's like okay. But Char kept asking for food and ended up dead set on a snowie so he finally said "If I get you a snowie will you stop asking for things?" I was like...shocked. That is exactly how to train your kids on how to train you. So we got snowies. Anyways juss a random thought about parenting.
Then we went home and rested for a bit in the afternoon before we went out to Natalies for a visit before going up to the Windcaves in the canyon for an evening hike. I brought my dog to Natalies cuz I wanted him to come on the hike, he was all excited until he saw the cat. The cat kinda ignored him for awhile so he paced a couple times, but when the cat got closer and more curious Max went straight to the door/corner and stuck his nose in the corner. If I can't see him, he can't see me. The cat seemed interested in his tail and he held so still and tried to breathe. And even when the cat got bored and left him Max stayed in the corner all freaked out and wanting to go home.
There was one point he tried to follow me I think and the cat ended up behind him and he crawled under the computer desk and stared at that corner for a good 10 minutes. I had to go untangle him from the wires and save their desk and pulled him out and tried to hide him from the cat but he juss wanted out. While the animals tortured each other, the girls tortured each other and the animals and I held a baby, Evan slept on the couch, Natalie took Arthur to work and we had a grand ol' time til we had to go and I thought I'd better save my dog. Yet another thing to learn about my dog. Afriad of cats. Nose in the air. Find a corner. Hold real still. With me I'm sure his heart is gonna out faster with all the new things I introduce him too that gives him anxiety.
Then we hiked up the switchbacks to the windcaves at a cooler time of day. The mesquitoes started eating us alive tho, well me at least. Evan took off faster with Char. My dog pulled me up the mountain and then pulled me down it. He didn't want anyone out of his sight and he wanted to be the leader the whole time too. That didn't happen. I'm slow. He got frustrated. I think coming down has always hurt worse with my toes sliding to the top of my shoes and pinching them and then feeling all the rocks under the thin tread left on my shoes didn't help. He saw me walking down a lil' weird and asked how I was doing and I told him my feet hurt thas why I was walking sideways a bit and then he told me to stop complaining (in other words). He asked a question! I was juss answering it! It's not like I was whining willingly the whole time. gaaah.
Then we went to the store and got some steaks, bread, ice cream and corn to cook for dinner. Mmm I was in the mood for a steak. Came home to find Mum making my favorite dish Zippy Beef and ate those noodles and steak for dinner. Offered Dad one of our steaks cuz he hates my favorite dish and we all had a lot of food including Raine cherries that cost waay too much for watered down cherries. Then we sat and watched the Craigs List Killer movie before going to bed.

We took baths and showers and waited for church to come around at 1pm. We went to church and watched everyone stare at us. The Fathers got cookies for F-Day after the first meeting. I dropped Char off at the primary and juss let her go sit with the kids, but Evan insisted on finding her teacher and introducing Char (there was a reason I didnt do that). Char has no problem announcing her name and age to strangers. They'd figger it out. But sure enough Char turned shy when she met the teacher and didn't want Daddy to leave and blah blah. Evan came around and couldn't find Char she was in a classroom in the corner of church. We went home and Dustin and his crew were there fixing dinner for F-Day. Dal and Lor soon showed up and gave Dad his gift. The gift of more lights to decorate his trailer with. So I decided to give him my gift and we hauled in the chair. And he sat in the chair and hooked up the lights. The look on his face "I like lights" and "I can't touch the ground sitting this high in the chair" ment we did good.
Then we ate dinner, spiked chicken and dutch oven potatoes with fruit, watermelon, real pineapple, cantelope, etc. Giant marshmellows and ice cream for dessert. Thanks to Dal prolly the first time Char has seen a real gun in real life. We thought it was cute when Char was trying to find her dad and ended up running into Dustin before seeing Dad. haha. I think she ended up hugging me and my parents a few times while she was there too. Very friendly.
We sat inside with Dal and Lor and chatted. We decided we needed to go around 8pm. So I went around the house and packed up all the extra food I could find to steal away with me. Evan packed the car. The dog followed everyone making sure we wouldn't go without him. Char played with Scott and Hayden in the backyard. It was funny to see how they react to a girl telling them what to do and attacking them with balls. And with that we came home. Evan and I had actual serious conversations while Char talked herself to sleep and Max stunk up the car with his nervous farts. Then Max decided to get Char back for all her pestering all weekend by sitting on her while she slept. I had to kick him to the back of the car. We dropped her off and headed home for sleepy time. I think with being able to sleep in I had more patience for doing kids and stuff. Not sure about Evan tho. The dog only lost his temper twice while being pestered the whole weekend, once out of sheer nervousness and the other pure annoyance. Don't blame him. Bet he was glad to be home in his yard with his neighbor friends.
