So... I have thoughts.

About 50 Shades of Grey

The news is all raving about who they are going to cast...

And the many men who have turned down the role...

It makes me curious how they get offered this role...

Do they know about the book? Did they read it? Do they just give a brief character description and the men decide from there if its something they want to be apart of? Do these actors have any moral issues or standards that they ask about before accepting a role? Do they just go off of what others have said about the characters?

Charlies Hunnam has backed out of the role last minute with uncertain excuses. I have to admit he looked the role, at least, what I was imagining in my head when I read the books...

I heard also that they asked Ryan Gosling (My absolute favorite guy) and rejected the role. I heard tha author wanted Robert Pattinson to play the part. He seems too young and not...harsh enough for the whole. I guess they juss pickin on natural blue eyes to play the part. But some don't have the demeanor of being ...harsh at times, they look too nice.

If you ask me what I thought of the books... I have many thoughts, but its harder to put them in words. Its been awhile since I've read the books and I still remember these feelings, so it must have been strong feelings at the time.

I would have to say I felt pissed off 80% of the time. The other 10% sexually aroused.

Angry that first of all, there were guys out there that actually thought about women in that way. Some men just really think they can control women, and that they are simply objects of pleasure, they have to be told what to do.

Second of all that some women are so passive out there that they actually let a guy treat them like that. They don't use their words -before- they get hurt, they start bawling -after- they get hurt. And if you want to go past your comfort zone and/or get hurt then don't whine about it afterwards!

I did not have a favorite character. They both pissed me off royally.

And frankly, it just made me want to super pro-active feminist. Almost to the point of cutting of penis'.

There is a difference between a 'bad' boy and a boy that treats you 'bad'. We all want it rough sometimes. I had a really hard time seeing the 'love' connection these two claim they had. He would give her everything from the start and at first she was surprised and then insulted and somehow at the end it turned into love. Whatever. I shouldn't get started. I could analyze this to death.

I can totally see why her books are so controversial. It crosses many moral lines, at least, for me.

The news has called it "mommy porn". I don't think I know of any mommys that would be on board with those ideas in those books... Maybe younger moms, like my age, maybe, that are super openminded..... But, for me, the purpose is to make mommy pissed off and then try to arouse her? Yeah, doesn't really work for me.

I can see though, if these actors really knew what they were getting into, how some of these boys have declined the role in this movie. Whoever will play Christian will be under some pressure and be scrutinized.

Now to the actress playing Anastasia.... It made me laugh... They are looking for a passive young girl right? One to experiment and control through a handsome young righ man right? They threw out the name Alexis Bledel. I just had to laugh. It really does describe her. She'd be perfect. Just seeing her in other movies and the roles she generally plays... Shes got the young innocent look about her.

Anyways!

To sum it all up I do believe I disliked the books.

And I would not suggest others to read them.

It takes a special personality to be okay with these concepts.

And most the ppl I know have strong feelings like I do and would prolly feel the same way I did.

I don't recall any other book making me that angry before... Nor that sexually aroused. Not sure either one of them are considered 'good' feelings.

I generally find the sexual part of books to be a nuisance and I skip over it, mainly because no one knows how to describe such events accurately or even realistically...

Not that I read dirty books all the time. Which is why I love Nicholas Sparks so much, he doesn't try that stunt of describing sex, he is just purely romantical on an equal gender ground.
